Weekend update
Apr. 7th, 2024 04:45 pmYesterday was pretty alright. It was the warmest april 6th ever over here, so mother and I went for a walk. I recommended going to this nature reserve that I've never been to, since I found it on Google Maps a while back, and so we went there and it was pretty cool! I took almost 400 pictures there with my camera. :P
Today's been less interesting. Played Fortnite for longer than intended and just kind of fucked around besides that. Now it's almost 5 pm and I still have to get started on schoolwork... I also just found some books I thrifted a while back, and I really want to read this one about why socialism failed in the US or the one about OCD now... But I have to do schoolwork... Oh well, guess it's my own fault. Shouldn't have waited so long to do shit.
Anyway, I watched a video about deepfakes today and I can't help but wonder if, now that deepfakes and A.I. have compromised every aspect of media, if maybe offline communication will be valued more again. I mean, now that even video calls can be deepfaked in real time, the only way to prove authenticity anymore is by seeing it in-person. Our society is focusing on becoming more and more online, but with the threat of deepfakes, this might not be a societal plan built to last. Besides that, I wonder if older tech is going to become more popular again. After all, who would scam someone using a fax machine? Or a pager? Why would anyone want an A.I. to create a low quality photo or video? Authenticity in the face of robots can't be upheld by using more advanced technology, but by using less advanced technology. Once people realize that, maybe society will calm down a bit again. I, for one, would find it an interesting turn in society. I'm getting tired of bots left and right! I don't want almost every human to be replaced by bots. I hope others will feel the same in the future. It's the only way I can feel slightly hopeful for the future.
Oh well, now it's time to get started with schoolwork. :P
