A few days ago I went to the website of my local cinema and checked all the listings of upcoming movies that were on there already and I made a list of all the movies I want to see this year. Because I'm not a fucking millionaire, I decided to watch the trailers for the movies on my list to see which ones I DEFINITELY want to see and I'm SO hyped for the movies coming out this year. It's really a mixed bag, but the movies that have me hyped have me REALLY hyped. And I honestly just laughed my ass off at some of these trailers.
First of, Captain America: Brave New World has a RED HULK who is also THE PRESIDENT OF THE U.S. played by HARRISON FORD??? This movie will be insane, but I can't help but at least laugh at how dumb that is.
Mickey 17 seems pretty fun! I like the premise and Robert Pattinson is just really fun to watch.
September 5 (yeah, I know it came out in 2024, but it's in theaters in 2025 here) has me on the edge of my fucking seat, honestly. I don't know shit about what happened at the Olympic Games in 1972 and you know what? That's pretty INSANE, given there were athletes held hostage during the Games. This movie seems tense as Hell and I'm here for it.
Novocaine is just Jack Quaid in The Boys, but if Hughie couldn't feel pain. I'm hyped.
A Minecraft Movie could be a hit or miss. It seems pretty funny, but I think the creatures in the movie still look awfully ugly, even in the second trailer. Still curious to see what they'll do with the movie. Although I still think an animated movie about Herobrine would've been way better.
The Amateur is just Elliott from Mr. Robot, but with less mental instability and a job at the CIA. Also Morpheus from The Matrix is here? Yeah, this is definitely one of the movies I'm the most excited for this year. Rami Malek kicks absolute ass!
Then Thunderbolts*. Oh my God. The first exciting MCU project since Guardians 3. I was really scared to watch the trailers, since I really NEED this movie to be good, but I watched it and... YEAH, IT FUCKING ROCKS!!! Bucky and John Walker, as well as Yelena and Alexei, working together again has me so hyped. Bucky and John are two of my three favorite MCU characters (the other being Zemo), so this should be really cool. :D
Elio looks... okay? I didn't like the first trailer that much, but I liked the second one better. I'm just excited to get a new concept from Disney Pixar again. And space = cool, so there's that.
I just found out today that scenes of F1 were actually recorded AT FORMULA 1 MATCHES. THEY JUST HAD BRAD PITT SHOW UP THERE... I have to watch the movie for that reason alone. That's the most chaotic route they could've gone.
And Superman looks pretty cool too. Can't believe X-Men's Beast became Lex Luthor. Oh well... What going bald does to a man.
And there are way more movies to talk about, but these are just the movies that I want to see and are on my local cinema website already. I'm so excited that there are so many movies that aren't just sequels or remakes. Yes, those are still coming this year en-masse, but there is a lot of new stuff to look forward to too. :]
