How Biden won Harris the election (maybe)
Jul. 28th, 2024 10:06 pmI wrote this blog last night, but I didn't feel like booting up my laptop again that late, so that's why I'm posting it now. :P
I was just thinking about the US elections and I thought that it was foolish for Biden to insist that he'd stay in the race for so long, when it was clear that he wasn't the candidate with the best chances for the Democrats. And then it hit me. That guy isn't foolish, he's fucking genius! American politics is less about "who is the best" and more about "who is the least bad", and a lot of arguments are just personal attacks from both sides. But Biden played his cards close to his chest. While he was demonizing Trump, he took all of the clapback from him. But then, at the last moment, he switched to someone who is well-known and close to his image, but younger and seemingly more capable. He gave back hope to the Democrats and, while people had already heard all the news about Trump, the Republicans suddenly have to change their target and thus have to take the time to learn how to discredit Harris. It's genius. And the timing now was especially good. I think that Biden knew he wasn't going to make it, maybe even played up his incompetence so that Republicans would mostly focus their attacks on how HE AS A PERSON is unfit for precidency, rather than HIS STANDPOINTS, so that now all the major points from Trump's hate is nullified. And that a little after Trump got shot. Biden expressed how he felt sad about Trump getting physically attacked, let him take the spotlight for a few days while everyone was in shock, and then took the spotlight back to the Democratic Party with a candidate far stronger than himself. If this was truly orchestrated and intentional, then I am insanely impressed by this tactic, and it might have won Harris the election, because I have faith in her campaigning. Trump is basically digging holes for himself just about every time he speaks. All Harris will have to do is give him the spotlight, and he will destroy himself by alienating a big part of his voters. Harris doesn't need to be a good candidate, she just needs to not be Trump or Biden.
Anyway, I think I'll get ready for bed again. It's two hours earlier than when I originally wrote this blog down, but it's hard to even keep my eyes open. Half of this shit was probably written with my eyes closed. Commitment 2 the content. :P
